The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) was established in 1969 at United Theological College, Bangalore, with the primary objective of fostering unity and working for the welfare of Naga students and families in Bangalore. As one of the oldest Northeast student unions in the city, NSUB is affiliated with the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) as a subordinate unit. It operates as a non-profit, youth-led organization, governed by an annually elected executive body and supported by a team of advisors.
The formation of NSUB was initiated by Late Dr. Inakhe and M. Bendangnukshi, with the consent and active participation of the Naga student community. The Union’s first leadership was helmed by Late Rev. Deo as President and M. Bendangnukshi as General Secretary.
NSUB is dedicated to bringing together all Naga tribes in Bangalore, fostering a deeper appreciation of their shared heritage, customs, and traditions while strengthening unity and friendship among its members. The Union is committed to supporting students in various academic, professional, and personal challenges, with a vision to cultivate excellence among Naga students in Bangalore.
Beyond student welfare, NSUB also plays a crucial role in helping members adapt to metropolitan life, providing guidance and awareness to navigate the opportunities and challenges of an evolving urban environment. By upholding the values of community, cultural preservation, and mutual support, NSUB continues to serve as a vital pillar for the Naga community in Bangalore.

The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) is a non-profitable youth-led organisation. It is run by a cluster of annually-elected officers, supported by a team of Advisors. It is among the oldest Northeast student unions in Bangalore. Its vision is exclusively about the Nagas in Bangalore, creating a space to participate the joy as well as in times of sorrow. The NSUB acts as the umbrella for the other Naga tribal unions or organisations in the city. It aims to provide an opportunity to unite in celebrating and enriching each other.
The Union is committed to bring all the Naga tribes to be together to enhance a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the rich heritage of our diverse culture, custom and tradition so as to foster unity and friendship amongst the members. The Union is dedicated in helping students in various issues and envisions to increase top-notch student in the city far away from homelands. It also aims to create an awareness to its members in the city to promote better understanding of the metro life to be able to face the challenges that may be incurred in the floating population.

The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) hosted its 56th Freshers’ Meet cum Nagas’ Night at St. Joseph’s University Auditorium, Bengaluru on 2nd October under the theme “Anchored in Identity, Rising with Leadership.” A cherished tradition of NSUB, the celebration welcomed new students while highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas and strengthening bonds of fraternity. The event drew over 2500 students, dignitaries, and well-wishers for a day of unity, culture, and inspiration. The presence of Chief Guest Abu Metha, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Nagaland, Chairman IDAN, Vice President AFI and Guest Speaker Dr Adaina Professor, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru added depth to the occasion, inspiring the students with words of vision and service.

Naga Students’ Union Bangalore Organizes Blood Donation Drive in Collaboration with Baptist Hospital

In a commendable effort to give back to the community, the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) successfully organized a blood donation drive in collaboration with Baptist Hospital on feb 22 2025. The initiative saw active participation not only from NSUB members but also from non-Naga individuals who came forward to donate blood for this noble cause.

Bangalore Baptist Hospital holds a special place in the hearts of the Naga community in Bangalore. Over the years, it has been a pillar of support, providing crucial medical assistance to many Naga brothers and sisters in need. The blood donation drive also strengthens the longstanding relationship between NSUB and Baptist Hospital, paving the way for future collaborations in healthcare and community welfare initiatives. The event also served as an educational platform, raising awareness about the urgent need for regular blood donations to save lives, especially in emergency and critical care situations.
